Case Narrative

DSI provided crisis management and consulting services to Pacific Gateway Exchange, Inc. (PGEX), a facilities-based international telecommunications carrier serving a wide array of domestic and international telecommunications service providers.  PGEX delivered carrier services over a flexible, advanced digital network that enabled it to terminate traffic worldwide and provided Internet services (connectivity and colocation) through a wholly-owned subsidiary.  In order to take advantage of the Internet as a medium of telephony, the company began providing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to telecommunications carriers, ISPs and other value-added service providers. DSI rendered consulting and crisis management services to the company, providing it with professional managers to assist with operations, financial accounting and with its restructuring efforts.  The latter included negotiations with both the secured lenders and the unsecured creditors.  In addition, DSI took an active role in the oversight and coordination of the company’s merger and acquisition activities.
