KLLM Transport Services, Inc., is a specialized carrier with annual revenues in excess of $250 million that was partially owned by Bernie Ebbers, formerly of WorldCom. As fiduciaries of Mr. Ebbers’ assets, DSI exercised ownership rights in the company including occupying two of the three Board of Directors positions. DSI provided oversight of the operations and was able to effectuate a refinancing transaction that paid off subordinated debt, and subsequently was able to complete a transaction that monetized the Ebbers Estate holdings, while supporting the ongoing business endeavors of the company.
