Case Narrative

Ritchie Risk-Linked Strategies Trading, Ltd., through two Ireland special purpose vehicles, acquired approximately 1,100 whole life insurance policies with a face value of $2.7 billion from Coventry First, LLC (“Coventry”) from June 2005 through October 2006. DSI was retained as the President for the Chapter 11 filing for both of these special purpose entities in the Southern District of New York.  DSI directed the due diligence process while protecting the privacy rights of the “underlying” 1,100 insured individuals. This process resulted in two successful bulk sales totaling $469 million.
