Case Narrative

DSI was engaged to act as Collateral Monitor and as an expert witness for the Chapter 11 Trustee in the Rothstein Rosenfeldt & Adler bankruptcy, pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division.  The case involves a $1.4 billion Ponzi scheme run by attorney Scott Rothstein, who was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison and faces federal forfeiture of his assets.  The federal government also charged the debtor as a criminal enterprise. The trustee entered into settlement agreements with certain individuals and entities pursuant to which the Collateral Monitor advised the trustee concerning the management and sale of certain real estate, airplane, vessel, operating businesses, and investments, and reviewed any potential transaction involving the assets.
